The Camp George Landscape

Camp George is located in the scenic Muskoka Region of Ontario, known for its beautiful lakes, historic Canadian Shield, and lush forests. We are situated on a unique peninsula, allowing us to offer a diverse range of programming.

Being at one with the amazing Northern Ontario terrain helps to make the Camp George experience unforgettable. Beautiful woodland, extensive hiking trails, a sparkling waterfront, glorious sunsets, and starry nights along with 200 acres to run and play, makes Camp George a summer wonderland.

With more than 30 buildings and various outdoor spaces, there is always a space for everyone at Camp George!

Main Lodge

The main lodge is home to our main offices, program office, tuck shop and infirmary. Senior staff and faculty housing is located on the second floor in 15 double and triple occupancy shared rooms each with twin size beds, a desk, a dresser and a three-piece bathroom. In the offseason, the main lodge services our conference centre as a 30 room hotel.

Chadar Ochel (Dining Hall)

Our dining hall can accommodate the entire camp community for three meals a day. With an excellent view of the lake outside every window, this large one-of-a-kind building provides the perfect programming space between meals and in the evening. Adjacent to the Chadar Ochel is our kitchen which prepares over 1200 meals a day.

Beit T’fillah (Outdoor Chapel)

One of the most beautiful and peaceful spots on camp with a picturesque panoramic view of the lake, this is the ideal setting for our daily services. Under the shade of the surrounding trees, the Beit T’fillah also serves as a perfect spot for small group discussions, programs, and presentations.

Ropes Course

This giant “jungle gym” allows campers to reach new heights – literally and figuratively. The Ropes Challenge Course, which is designed to provide individual and group challenges, includes low, mid and high elements. In addition, our course includes two Climbing walls, an Initiative wall, Spider’s Web, a Giant Swing, and a trust dive.

Waterfront

Our unique peninsula-shaped Waterfront, provide the perfect environment for a range of aquatic activities. Each activity area (ski, sail, paddlesports & swim) has its own dock and separate area. Our swimming area includes a sandy beach, floating raft, water trampoline and other water inflatables.

Gazebo

This “shelter of peace” provides a shady spot for cabin activities, guitar practice, and quiet conversations.

Athletic Facilities

Our sports facilities include 2 tennis courts, a lit basketball court, a baseball diamond, playing field, a beach volleyball/badminton court, and miles of hiking & mountain biking trails.

The Ohel (Tent)

The giant tent provides excellent programming space, especially on rainy days.

Ulam (Rec Hall)

This small, indoor programming space houses our drama program and is perfect for unit evening programs and cabin activities.

Point

What would camp be without a campfire? The “Point” is the perfect location for sitting around the campfire and watching the sunset. During the summer we gather as a camp community at the Point for campfires and havdalah.

Pavilion

Our newest building, the Pavilion, is an open-air multipurpose facility for sports, art presentations, services, and everything in between. We are excited that the Pavilion will be making its debut for Summer 2021!

Dorms

Our two Dorm buildings, consisting of three large rooms and full-service bathroom facilities, house a number of activity areas. Our “Red” dorm is home to our Dance program and a Staff Lounge. Our “Blue” dorm is home to our cooking program as well as a cozy and comfortable programming space. Our dorm buildings are winterized for year round use.
