Working at Camp George is a memorable, social, and transformative experience where you can hone your skills and learn new ones…all while making a positive contribution to the Jewish community. As a member of the Camp George Camp staff, you will have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of our campers while developing important lifelong skills and having the summer of your life!

Our staff is comprised of senior high school students, university and college students, graduate students, Rabbinical students and professionals in various fields. Together the staff team creates a warm, nurturing and caring community for our campers to learn and grow. Our staff are at the very heart of what we do at camp, helping to support our campers and develop a program that is top-notch.

Each year we look for responsible and energetic young adults to fill our various staff positions. If you have a passion for working with kids, for developing programs, for being in the outdoors, and for making Judaism come alive…then a job at Camp George is right for you.

We hire both counselors and specialists, both of whom live in camper cabins and spend their days teaching, mentoring, and being role models for campers. Specialists are hired to work in specific activity areas and come to camp with the skills, experience, and qualifications for their specific area. Senior staff positions are also available, including programming staff, education staff, administrative staff, department heads, unit heads and songleaders.

A staff’s summer at Camp George is eight weeks long, including a 6 or 7-day staff training week. Each staff member is entitled to six days off throughout the summer.

Working at Camp George is a great way to spend your summer. Our staff gain valuable experience in child care, mentorship, teamwork, problem solving, programming, evaluation, supervision, and more. Without a doubt, the skills that you will develop at Camp George will impact your future, educationally, professionally, and personally. Most of all, a summer at Camp George will allow you to enrich both yours and your campers lives through living and learning about Reform Jewish culture, traditions, and values.
