Hey Camp George! My name is Amanda Werger, and I am so excited to be coming back to camp this year as the Administrative and Logistics Director!

A little bit about me: I recently completed my undergraduate degree at Carleton University, majoring in Legal Studies and minoring in Psychology. I am extremely excited that I will be attending Law School starting in September at the University of Ottawa. In my free time, I enjoy grabbing bagels at the local Hillel, listening to musical theatre soundtracks, and watching Game of Thrones. I also love to travel: last summer I spent over a month travelling to Portugal, Spain, Morocco, and Germany!

This will be my fourth summer at Camp George. I came to CG for the first time in Summer 2015 after my friends from NFTY-NEL told me about how incredible Camp George is. As soon as I arrived at camp that first summer, I knew that Camp George would become my second home.

In the past, I worked as an Arts and Crafts specialist and the Assistant Head of Arts and I have been a staff for the Barak and C.I.T. units.  I am super excited to take on this new and challenging role at camp. One of my favourite parts of camp has always been creating new and exciting programming for the staff and campers to enjoy and I am so excited to be able to continue doing that in this role!

I can’t imagine what my life would be like today had I not come to Camp George. I met some of my best friends and made some of my fondest memories all at camp. Camp helped me grow as an individual by teaching me the importance of dedication, leadership, and friendship and I am so excited to be able to share all that Camp George has taught me with our campers this summer.

I can’t wait to get back to Maple Lake! My countdown has already begun!
