We’re delighted to announce that Julia Guest is returning to Camp George as our new Recovery and Operations Manager on Monday, February 3rd. Julia, a former Assistant Director, brings a wealth of experience in recovery operations and camp management. Her leadership will be invaluable as we navigate the recovery process following the dining hall fire.
Julia’s focus will be on supporting both the immediate and long-term needs of our camp community. With her expertise and dedication, we’re confident that Camp George will emerge stronger than ever, ready to create cherished memories for years to come.
A Note from Julia
I am thrilled to be returning to Maple Lake and Camp George. Having spent nine wonderful years as the Assistant Director and Conference Coordinator, I had the privilege of managing scheduling, specialty areas, and year-round operations. I know our camp facility inside and out, and it’s truly an honor to work alongside our camp community as we rebuild and reimagine our beloved Chadar Ohel.
I’m excited to reconnect with our current camp families, alumni, and lay leaders as we embark on this journey together. As a canoe tripper at heart, I’ve always been drawn to the spirit of adventure that camp inspires. These days, I continue to find adventures with my partner James and our two dogs, Duke and Dot.
I can’t wait to see what we will achieve together and am so grateful to be part of the Camp George family once again.
