Check out our interview with Leadership Coordinator Zara Zweig in the blog below! Welcome back Zara!

Tell us about your background at camp.

“This summer will be my 12th summer at Camp George. I started going to camp in 2009 as a camper in L4 and have been coming back every summer since. I have been a Kochavim counselor, a Barak counselor and most recently the Barak assistant unit head.”

What are you looking forward to this summer?

“I love camp more than anywhere else in the world and I am most looking forward to being back on Maple Lake and spending time in my favourite place with all of my favourite people. I am really excited to take on a new role this summer and build relationships with both the C.I.T.’s and the Machon staff.”

What do you do outside of camp?

“I am currently in my 3rd year at York University studying sociology and education. I also work as a dance teacher at ViBE dance studio throughout the year.”

You have to sing karaoke, what song do you pick?

“My go to karaoke song is Firework by Katy Perry.”

If you had to eat one camp meal everyday for the rest of your life what would it be?

“If I had to eat one camp meal every day it would be fried rice.”

What is one thing people might not know about you?

“Something that people might not know about me is that in 2010 I was the Etch-A-Sketch in the camp production of Toy Story. I had no lines and it was the only camp play I was ever in but the pictures of me dressed as an Etch-A-Sketch are priceless.”
