It was just a couple weeks ago that we came together to celebrate our first Shabbat of the summer. Now it’s hard to believe that this evening will mark the last Shabbat of the session. This week has been such a great week at camp. Visitor’s Day on Sunday saw hundreds of family and friends at camp. Monday was our B’libenu move-a-thon celebrated healthy and active living at camp and with your generosity, through your camper sponsorships, we raised over $2,700 for our new Pavilion. Today was Yom Yisrael, filled with Israeli songs and dances, and activities planned by our mishlachat (Israeli Delegation). All this week, camp was filled with ruach, teamwork and bonding experiences that create lifetime friendships and memories. We were also very proud of our Barak campers who, as part of Barak Gives Back, raised over $450 towards Canadian Tire’s Jumpstart initiative.

In addition to all the special camp-wide programming, our units have been really busy as well with lots of fun activities and programs happening throughout the week.

Nitzotzot had a great third week of camp. Their two cabins battled it out making pizzas during Master Chef, and we also celebrated Halloween in July! This week was also our B’libenu move-a-thon, and Nitzotzot had lots of fun getting active and energized alongside the rest of the camp!

Lehavot made really interesting pizzas during Iron Chef during their Iron Chef challenge. Campers enjoyed choosing their own activity period during Lehavot Choice, and campers had a great time making cardboard cars at the “drive-in movie.”

Kochavim had a terrific third week of camp. They started off the week with the boys overnight on Tuesday and the girls overnight on Wednesday. They ate hot dogs, island crisp, and had delicious smore‘s. They also enjoyed a beach night program that included a dance party on the beach, the girls had a spa night, and the boys had basketball tournament.

Barak enjoyed a wonderful day in Parry Sound where they participated in Barak Gives Back. Some groups helped raise over $200 in form of a car wash, while others helped garden. They ended their day with a relaxing afternoon at the beach. Other campers just got back from their 4-day canoe trip. They ended the week by putting their staff on trial in the latest edition of “Kids Court”

The CITs completed their second week of full placements. They also enjoyed a full week of evening programs led by their peers. The CITs are most excited for their upcoming rafting trip in Ottawa.

We invite you to check out our weekly recap video to see this week’s highlights.

Looking ahead to the next few days, and the final days of the session, we are excited about:

  • The Kochavim/Barak play
  • Hagigah arts festival
  • Staff basketball game
  • Camper banquet
  • And more!

As we prepare to celebrate our last Shabbat of the session, we are so proud of all that our community has accomplished. We have watched lifelong friendships form, and the memories made this session will truly last a lifetime. We are thrilled to have provided campers with a happy, safe and skill building summer on Maple Lake. Thank you for entrusting your children to us for what was a wonderful session filled with friendship, fun, and personal growth.

Wishing you a wonderful Shabbat,
