We’re back with another blog for our “20 questions” series. Read on below for our interview with our Administrative and Logistics Director Jordan Notkin.
Question #1: What are you most excited about for your role at camp?
Jordan: “I am excited to play a bigger role in contributing ideas for camp-wide activities and events.”
Question #2: What’s your biggest dream?
Jordan: “I used to dream of being an alpine Olympic skier, but now it would be to go heli- skiing.”
Question #3: Favourite part of Maccabiah/colour war?
Jordan: “The opening ceremonies for Maccabiah within the past few years have been exceptional.”
Question #4: All time best camp memory?
Jordan: “I loved my older Barak canoe trip.”
Question #5: What did you want to be when you were a kid?
Jordan: “I wanted to be an alpine Olympic skier.”
Question #6: What are your favourite hobbies?
Jordan: “Some of my favourite hobbies are skiing, golf, tennis, guitar, and video games.”
Question #7: If you could live in a book, TV Show or movie, what would it be?
Jordan: “The Hunger Games.”
Question #8: If you could master one skill you don’t have right now, what would it be?
Jordan: “Master the guitar.”
Question #9: What’s your favourite Jewish holiday and why?
Jordan: “Passover because I get to see my extended family in Montreal.”
Question #10: What is your favourite game or sport to watch and play?
Jordan: “Favourite sport to watch is basketball. However, my favorite sports to play are tennis and golf. My favorite board game to play is Risk.”
Question #11: Have you ever had a nickname? What is it?
Jordan: “Notty.”
Question #12: If you could eat your favorite food now, what would it be?
Jordan: “My mom’s spaghetti.”
Question #13:What are you grateful for?
Jordan: “I am grateful for the amazing and supportive family that I have.”
Question #14: Do you have any siblings? What are they like?
Jordan: “Mitchell and Cailey who both go to Camp George. Mitchell is the polar opposite of me, and Cailey is very silly and hilarious.”
Question #15: If you were sent to live on a space station for three months and only allowed to bring three personal items with you, what would they be?
Jordan: “My guitar, a good book and my laptop.”
Question #16: What outdoor activities do you like to do?
Jordan: “I love playing sports, especially tennis, golf and skiing.”
Question #17: What is something you love doing? Why?
Jordan: “I love skiing. I am very good at it, and I like the feeling of going very fast down the mountain. I also love windsurfing.”
Question #18: What was one new experience you tried that was completely unknown or uncomfortable to you at the time you tried it?
Jordan: “I ran a Shabbat service in the Old City of Jerusalem on my Birthright trip.”
Question #19: What is your proudest camp moment?
Jordan: “The C.I.T. staff had each of us write a letter to someone who means a lot to me. I ended up writing a letter to my Zaidie telling him how much I love him and how much of an influence he has had on me.”
Question 20: What are some small things that make your day better?
Jordan: “Someone makes me laugh, receiving a compliment, accomplishing the goals I set for the day.”
