Jeff Rose, Director
Jeff Rose joined the Camp George family in the fall of 2007. Jeff came to us from Camp Sabra in St. Louis, MO. Before that Jeff spent many years in Montreal, Quebec, where he was the full time Associate Director of the Harry Bronfman Y Country Camp. He has an education degree from the University of Toronto where he taught grade two prior to moving into camping full time. Jeff’s passion for camp shines through and he promises to make Camp George a safe and fun environment where campers and staff will laugh, learn and grow together and create memories that will last a lifetime.
Karen Kollins, Associate Director
Karen is a veteran of Ontario camping and URJ camping. She has been with Camp George since its inaugural season in 1999 and has helped to develop the Camp George program. A former teacher, Karen brings to camp a love for children and an understanding of children’s emotional and development needs. Karen believes that camp is the ultimate environment for learning and a place where children gain independence through risk taking and relationship building. Karen has a Masters’ of Education and a teaching degree. Her Masters’ research focused on creating an anti-bullying program for the camp environment. Karen met her husband, Daniel Abramson at Camp George and together with their children Ruby and Lev they spend their summers loving life in the Camp George great outdoors.
Tal Rozenfeld, Manager of Finances
Tal Rozenfeld, our Manager of Finances (Canada) is responsible for our camp accounts and financial administration. She is a former Business Administrator at UJA Federation of Toronto. Tal moved to Toronto from Tel Aviv many years ago along with her family – her husband Andrei and sons Eli, Michael, and Sacha. When she is not busy crunching numbers, Tal loves to travel. Lucky for her (and for us) Muskoka is one of her favourite places.
Michael Marks, Assistant Director
Michael joined in the Camp George professional staff team in December 2018. Michael is not new to Camp having grown up on Maple Lake and served in various camp staff roles including Waterfront staff, Waterfront Director, and Lehavot Unit Head. Most recently Michael spent his days in a canoe working at Boundless Adventures guiding students on outdoor adventure experiences. Michael is thrilled to be part of the Camp George team.
Josh Nezon, Camp George Program Director/NFTY-NEL Regional Director
Josh Nezon was born and raised in Thornhill, Ontario and is an alumnus of MHarZY (Temple Har Zion), NFTY-NEL and URJ Camp George where he spent many summers as both a camper and staff member. After finishing his studies at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario, Josh moved to Australia and served as a Fellow for Melbourne’s oldest and largest progressive synagogue, Temple Beth Israel, before returning to the frozen tundra of the GTA. When he isn’t creating innovative pathways for Jewish youth engagement, Josh can be found playing guitar, training at the gym, taking photos or playing with his parents’ dog Murphy. Josh is thrilled to have the opportunity to serve both NFTY-NEL and Camp George, two organizations that have fostered much of his personal and professional growth.
Bob Quinton, Maintenance Director
No one knows Camp George like Bob knows Camp George. Bob Quinton has been taking care of the Camp George site for 20 years. With experience as a Contractor, Bob takes care of our plumbing, electrical and water systems. Bob ensures that the facility is well maintained throughout the year. When he is not at work, Bob and his dogs like to spend time in the great outdoors, hunting and fishing.
Kurt Halloch, Maintenance Supervisor
Kurt is thrilled to have joined the Camp George team as our Maintenance Supervisor. Kurt is busy using his diverse background and skillset to help camp run well and look fabulous.
