Camp George Onward Fellow 2026

My internship with Save a Child’s Heart has been an incredibly meaningful experience. I volunteer with children from less developed countries who come to Israel for life-saving surgery.

My experience as a camp counselor taught me how to connect with children of all ages through play, planning activities, and spreading joy even without speaking the same language. I have felt especially connected in this internship through finding activities to play with the children even without language, simply by learning and doing activities together like making bracelets and playing catch.

I have loved being in Israel so much, and feel especially connected because of the way camp has integrated Israeli culture into camp through activities like Yom Yisrael and bringing in many mishlachat each year.

Being able to form connections with the kids at Save A Childs Heart and having the opportunity to live in Israel has been a meaningful experience that I would highly recommend to anyone!
