With so many activities going on every day, camp is a great place for campers learn new skills and build on current ones. How great is it for a child to say they came to camp and learned how to waterski, use the pottery wheel or build a campfire? Camp is an amazing place to learn new skills because it gives campers a safe space to learn and the support they need from their peers, specialists, and counselors.

One of the many skills campers gain at camp is the ability to ride a bike. We have a talented team of bike specialists and for some campers, including Naomi, a Nitzotzot camper, camp is where some children learn to ride a bike. Read about Naomi’s experience learning to ride a bike, below:

Was this your first time at camp?

“I was at camp last year for Mini Mensch and this is my first summer in Nitzotzot.”

What made you want to try biking?

“I rode a bike with training wheels when I was younger but I don’t remember the last time I was on a bike without them.”

Who taught you how to bike?

“My counselors helped me along with Josh one of the bikes specialists.”

How do you feel about biking now?

“It feels really good to get up on a bike. This was the second time our cabin came to bikes, but this was the first time I rode without help.”

Way to go Naomi!
